I'm trying to use my new cheapo electronic drums with GarageBand (Donner DED-200). I returned the kit and bought a Simmons SD1200 instead which I'm very happy with as a budget option. It only sends "Note On" events and never sends "Note Off". The Donner kit's MIDI implementation is 100% broken and *cannot* work with any software.
